I’ve seen you, a couple times, on television. I think the role I enjoyed (though I loathed the character) was the Camp Goodtimes episode of Highway to Heaven.
I’ve already contacted Charlotte Stewart about her role in that episode…See, my older brother was an outpatient at St. Jude until about four months prior to his death in 1976, when they gave up and sent him home to die.
I went along with Carl and Dad, when they went for one of Carl’s chemo treatments and the memories of that trip caused me to ask Ms. Stewart if this were a hard part to do (she said it was).
Don’t get me wrong, though: In 1971, I was supposed to have died because medical assistance wasn’t sought in time to keep Meningitis from going into the latter stages.
(In 1998, I was the same doctor, who told Mom not to expect me to live “more than two weeks,” and his chin hit his chest, when he realized that half-dead 10-year old was, not only, fully alive but walking.
As you can probably see, I am adept at writing. I’ve written an, as yet, unpublished novel, in which a nurse mentions how nurses in the cancer ward count it a blessing, when they see one of their former patients, years later, and realize that patient is still alive.
I hope you’re doing well.
